Ethnography

Side Note

Offered mainly as part of the CustomerForward™ Consulting. Projects are set up that allow the research to observe and study people and spend a considerable amount of time with them.

Ethnographers engage in "participant observation", which means that they participate as much as possible regarding the topic of study (meals, food preparation, driving) while also carefully observing everything they can about it.  Through this, ethnographers seek to gain what is called an "emic" perspective, or the "native's point(s) of view" without imposing their own conceptual frameworks.  This provides companies with a unique perspective and can provide innovation insights for companies.
